Ophthalmic surgeon Mr Charles Claoué, Consultant at Whipps Cross University Hospital, London, was honoured by the South African Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (SASCRS) at its 10th biennial congress in Sun City. Mr Claoué was awarded the prestigious Kritzinger Medal after delivering a spirited presentation on the treatment of Presbyopia.

Following the success of “Update on Foldable Intraocular Lenses”, a one-day Symposium which was held last year in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Rayner recently sponsored a second one-day Symposium, “Update on Foldable Intraocular Lenses 2002".

The meeting was a huge success, well attended by consultant and junior ophthalmologists coming mainly, but not exclusively, from the North of England.
