Professor Oliver Findl, Dr Nino Hirnschall and Professor Michael Amon hosted Rayner’s recent DFP-certified Premium IOL Wetlab event in Vienna, Austria in September 2015.

The group of enthusiastic junior surgeons were exposed to a full Toric and Supplementary (Sulcoflex^®) program which consisted of the following key topics:

Professor Rudy Nuijts (The Netherlands) and Professor James Wolffsohn (United Kingdom) – speakers on the panel at Rayner’s 2015 ESCRS Educational Symposium ‘Refractive Surprise; the Big Taboo’ – as well as Drs Mark Cherny (Australia) and David Frazer (United Kingdom), who attended the event, share their views on the topic of refractive surprise in cataract surgery.

Enhancing the customer journey was a strong motivation for the transformation of Rayner’s Customer Service function over the last 12 months, so the recent ‘National Customer Service Week’ official event provided an excellent opportunity for the new team to show the rest of the Company what they’re doing to improve Customer satisfaction.

Also included in the video, Rayner CEO Tim Clover and Professor Steve Arshinoff welcome guests and briefly introduce Ophteis to the Rayner family before commencing the cutting of a celebratory cake.

Prof. Rudy Nuijts introduced and moderated the Rayner 2015 ESCRS Satellite Symposium featuring the topic of refractive surprise.

Prof. Nuijts, highlighted that refractive surprise is a serious challenge in cataract and refractive surgery and requires further thought for management. The topic was presented in two presentations, from Professors Mats Lundström and James Wolffsohn, and a round table discussing interesting cases.

Rayner will be hosting a very special ESCRS event to mark the recent acquisition of the Ophteis OVD portfolio.

Professor Rudy Nuijts, Professor Mats Lundstrӧm, Professor James Wolffsohn, Professor Michael Amon, Mr Allon Barsam and Dr Tiago Ferreira will complete the panel of presenters who make up the symposium ‘Refractive Surprise; The Big Taboo’, an education program sponsored by Rayner in conjunction with Eurotimes at the XXXIII Congress of ESCRS, 5-8 September in Barcelona. 

Professor Herbert Reitsamer, Professor Fritz Hengerer, Professor Stephan Kaminski and Professor Hans Hoerauf were some of the surgeons who contributed to the recent 2015 Rayner-Forum in Berlin.

65 surgeons from Germany and Austria travelled to Berlin for a weekend of education, sharing ideas and best practice.

Rayner has acquired the ophthalmic cataract surgery business of Aptissen SA (Geneva, Switzerland).

The acquisition closes today, July 2, 2015.

A group of Uganda’s poorest children have had the gift of sight restored and 4 Ugandan paediatric ophthalmologists have been educated on the modern methods of paediatric cataract surgery. These are the achievements of the latest teaching visit organised by the VISION 2020 LINKS programme, with the support of Rayner.

The company was honoured to be approached by surgeon, Mr Geoffrey Woodruff, FRCOphth, who requested a supply of Rayner’s premium quality monofocal IOLs (the Rayner C-flex) and some Rayvisc viscoelastic for his up-coming charity work in Uganda. The following is his report on his trip and its purpose.
