Congratulations to the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital!

2007 marks the 125th anniversary of the world-famous St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital.

To celebrate this, the hospital has launched its International Patient Relief Appeal. An icon has been created, carved out of Jerusalem stone, which is symbolic both of the Hospital’s charitable works and is a call for aid. This ‘icon’ will go on a ‘journey’ across the St John world, acting as a focal point for fundraising efforts. Before it St Jhon of Jerusalem Hospitalstarted its fundraising journey, the icon was taken from Jerusalem, through Acre and Malta, to London. This was a journey to revisit some sites where the hospitalling tradition of the Order of St John was established. More information on the Appeal is to be found at the hospital’s website.

Rayner is proud to have contributed financially to support the UK fund-raising. We congratulate the Guild and Staff who do such important and much-needed work in the main Hospital in East Jerusalem, in Gaza and the other centres.

Our best wishes for the future to the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital.
