Rayner Joint CEOs Placed Highly in Annual Industry Charity Fun Run

Posted on 08/05/2015

Rayner Joint CEOs Darren Millington and Tim Clover displayed their athleticism in an impressive performance at the Third Annual Run for Sight in San Diego, California - a feature in the calendar of events at the recent American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Meeting (ASCRS).

The CEOs had the satisfaction of achieving highly competitive places but more importantly, were able to contribute to the fundraising, as well as raising awareness, for this important charity.

Tim – a competitive triathlete – completed the 5km course in 22:35, placing him 16th out of the 331 runners. Darren demonstrated that his cycling fitness transfers nicely into running with a time of 24:26, earning him 34th position.

The participants raised over $14,300, all of which goes towards the ASCRS Foundation’s various ongoing programmes; working with physician volunteers, NGO partners, industry, and advocacy groups, to promote clinical education and extend the reach and benefits of modern ophthalmology both in the United States and internationally. For more information on the Foundation please click here.

All money raised through the race directly benefits patients.

Darren and Tim have their sights firmly set on the 2016 race in New Orleans.
