Rayner Announces New CEO

Rayner Intraocular Lenses Limited announced today the appointment Martin Jamieson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO.) Most recently, Mr. Jamieson was Managing Director of Smiths Medical International, a company employing 2,400 worldwide with a turnover of over £400 million.

Rayner lens Chairman Donald Munro said: "I am very pleased to welcome Martin as our new CEO. This is a new position in the company comes at a pivotal moment in our development as we move our manufacturing facility and offices from Hove to Worthing.  Martin has an impressive record in senior management within the UK medical device industry, experience which Rayner needs now in order to capitalise on our recent successes and build a strong business for the future.”

Mr. Jamieson has had an accomplished career in the medical devices sector. As CEO he will take immediate charge of Rayner’s business, with a special emphasis on managing the important transition to the company’s new site in Worthing.

Mr Munro added: “I will move to a new role as Vice President – re-focusing on our external activities, maintaining and developing our well-established links with the ophthalmic surgeon community, as well as our links with the industry and our network of international distributors.”

Mr. Jamieson is a Non-Executive Director of Medway Hospital Trust. He will assume his new position at Rayner in early May.
