Professor Rudy Nuijts, Professor Mats Lundstrӧm, Professor James Wolffsohn, Professor Michael Amon, Mr Allon Barsam and Dr Tiago Ferreira made up the panel of presenters for the Symposium ‘Refractive Surprise; The Big Taboo’ -- an education program sponsored by Rayner (in conjunction with Eurotimes) at the XXXIII Congress of ESCRS, 5-8 September in Barcelona.

Enhancing the customer journey was a strong motivation for the transformation of Rayner’s Customer Service function over the last 12 months, so the recent ‘National Customer Service Week’ official event provided an excellent opportunity for the new team to show the rest of the Company what they’re doing to improve Customer satisfaction.

Rayner has acquired the ophthalmic cataract surgery business of Aptissen SA (Geneva, Switzerland).

The acquisition closes today, July 2, 2015.

A group of Uganda’s poorest children have had the gift of sight restored and 4 Ugandan paediatric ophthalmologists have been educated on the modern methods of paediatric cataract surgery. These are the achievements of the latest teaching visit organised by the VISION 2020 LINKS programme, with the support of Rayner.

The company was honoured to be approached by surgeon, Mr Geoffrey Woodruff, FRCOphth, who requested a supply of Rayner’s premium quality monofocal IOLs (the Rayner C-flex) and some Rayvisc viscoelastic for his up-coming charity work in Uganda. The following is his report on his trip and its purpose.

Rayner Joint CEOs Darren Millington and Tim Clover displayed their athleticism in an impressive performance at the Third Annual Run for Sight in San Diego, California - a feature in the calendar of events at the recent American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Meeting (ASCRS).

The CEOs had the satisfaction of achieving highly competitive places but more importantly, were able to contribute to the fundraising, as well as raising awareness, for this important charity.

Rayner today announces several changes to the senior management team. The appointments reflect renewed focus on Rayner’s surgical business following the divestment earlier last year of Rayner’s retail optometry business. The move will be complemented by a move later this year to The Ridley Innovation Centre, a brand new state-of-the art global headquarters and production facility in Worthing, West Sussex, UK. This major investment will enable Rayner to double its manufacturing capacity and support the company’s ambitious business expansion.
